This HerbinĀ straight glass dip pen is made of clear and red glass. The rounded body features a cross pattern design to match the red Herbin Rouge Caroubier pen ink. These hand blown glass pens are made in the tradition of 16th century Venice. Each pen is an individual work of art. The fine glass tips are twisted in a light spiral to hold the maximum amount of ink. Glass dip pens are great for both fountain pen ink or calligraphy/dip pen ink!
Our note: The instructions inside this glass pen say that you can smooth the tip with fine sandpaper. In our experience, itās best to use micro mesh or mylar, as itās finer than sandpaper and will sand less aggressively, minimizing the chance of irreversible damage. Note that when you sand it, youāre altering the tip and taking that risk upon yourself. The more you sand away, the broader the line the pen will write. Whatever you sand away, you canāt put back! So go lightly, and understand that glass pens are stiff and will inherently not feel as smooth as a fountain pen.
